Roof Demossing & Moss Removal Techniques, Yearly Maintenance Program

When demossing your roof, you want to be as gentle as possible. Never use a pressure washer to remove the moss as you will remove many of the granules from the shingle, which in turn does more harm than good. If there is moss growing on your roof unfortunately it generally requires at least some moss removal, but you do not need to be too aggressive. Simply exposing the roots with a scraping tool and then applying a moss killing solution will do the trick. Once the moss is off your roof, the goal is to continue applying solution every year - 2 years, depending on the trees around your house. We always provide a 1 year warranty as a safe bet, but many roofs can go longer without a re-spray. Scraping your roof year after year is more expensive, it's hard on your roof and will create wear and tear faster than simply applying solution yearly before it grows.

We have found this to be the absolute best technique to keep your roof clean. You also want to clear debris regularly, as that is where the moss spores come from. We offer affordable roof clearing services and will clean your gutters while we're up there.

Our company is equipped to tackle any pitch and height of roof. We carry WorkSafeBC and liability insurance, as well as certified safety harnesses, ropes, and ladder hooks. A ladder hook is an attachment that hooks onto a one-piece ladder and onto the ridge of your roof, so we can safely stand on steep slopes and efficiently work. 

We also demoss and clean the majority of metal, slate, tiled roofs and more, but depending on the tie off points around your house, some we are not able to do. We are not equipped to install roof anchors on a metal roof for example, and we want to keep our staff as safe as possible.
